Dianne Wallis celebrates 15 years in style

dwallisAfter 15 years in business, Dianne Wallis is celebrating more than just an anniversary.

“This was a celebratory year, all in all,” Wallis said recently.
Her Decorating Den Interiors business was recognized in several ways within the industry and Wallis was chosen to work with the
Children’s Wish Foundation to grant a special decorating wish for a Woodstock child.

“It should be a lot of fun! I think the foundation learned of some of my charity work and looked at some of the work I’ve done on
Houzz before they asked me.”

Houzz is an online home decorating site where people can view pictures posted by designers and download them to their own site.

“It’s like Pinterest but it’s specifically about interior decorating. People can search for specific styles and colours. Whenever I do
rooms I feel have a tremendous impact I have them professionally photographed.”

Based on the number of downloads by viewers and customer satisfaction on Houzz, Wallis won a “Best of Houzz” designation for
the second year in a row this year.

“I was thrilled!”

She was also named in the Top Three Canadian Decorating Dens in sales for 2013.

Wallis’ work was featured in this year’s Murray Feiss catalogue. A full page shot of one of her decorated foyers was used for the
lighting manufacturer, which sells throughout the U.S. and Canada.

One of Wallis’ kitchen projects was picked up in a double-page spread in ROOMS, Designer Spaces-Inspiring Ideas published out
of Texas, and a full page ad in Romantic Homes featured a bedroom she decorated.

“A lot of our photography gets picked up and used by large magazines. If they’re looking for something specific they’ll contact
Decorating Den in the U.S. and ask about photos, then contact the designer and get background.

“That particular kitchen for ROOMS, was in Cathcart, just outside of Burford, a brand new ‘transitional urban’ home where I worked
with the client on virtually everything, right down to the teapot in the kitchen.”

Wallis has unveiled a fresh look for the Decorating Den logo and continues to work with busy professionals who usually don’t have
the time or inclination to shop.

She uses a team of contractors who do the painting, tiling, flooring and installations she requires.

“I really enjoy meeting my clients, getting to know them and bringing them beautiful rooms.”

Aside from her interior design work, Wallis applies herself to charitable projects as well. She is a Handbags for Hospice sponsor
and chair of Nova Vita’s board of directors.

In the community, she’s decorated Closet Couture on King George Road, a social enterprise project of Nova Vita’s, and
quiet/comfort rooms at both Nova Vita and the Paris Veterinary Clinic.
