Room updates and makeovers come in a variety of shapes and sizes. What’s important to remember when achieving your personal design goals, is to maintain a consistency in design and color flow throughout the room.
Our before is a basement room – complete with inlaid tile on the wall, that the client did not want removed due to expense. Also notice the concrete floor. This long and narrow space cries out for style and comfort.
First we chose a soft aqua blue shade and married it with a warm tangelo orange which fit the bill perfectly, and added a sense of comfort and peace to this new family room. A subtly striped grass cloth wall covering nicely covered the outdated wall tile, and saved the client the expense of removing the tile.
The window treatment design actually helps give this comfortable room a larger appearance. By treating these two windows as one, and adding an exquisitely designed window treatment of banded side panels and an accented soft pleated cornice, a focal point has been created where none existed before. Notice how the window treatment fabric carries the room’s entire color scheme.
Matching soft teal colored sofas, highlighted by a variety of colorful accent pillows and two side chairs featuring a soft teal and tangelo geometric print complete this inviting space.
